The Asociación Los Amigos de Torrox is a non-profit making association constituted in Malaga, as covered in Article 22 of the Spanish Constitution in Constitutional Law 1/22nd March 2002, based at Urbanización Torrox Park, Centro Comercial 1˚B, 29793 Torrox, Málaga. The club is open to all and we actively encourage people from all backgrounds to join our community. We hold a wide-range of popular events during the week including jam nights, skittles, karaoke, line-dancing and a quiz-night. Membership is only €5 per year or €1 per month, so why not come and join our friendly, home-from-home club.
The main aim of the club is the promotion, education, enlightenment and encouragement of British and other foreigners or those with connections in the area, for residency, work, leisure, including tourists and other visitors etc, with the aim of integrating them into the existing media, enriching their lives with the culture, language, gastronomy, customs etc both Spanish and more particularly regional, provincial and local, by way of organized joint or social activities to meet those aims.
Our activities include:
Joint non-profit making recreational and fun activities in the social headquarters of the Asociación, including consumption of food and drink from the Bar
Organise activities to raise funds for local and international charitable organisations, activities organized by the Asociación, the takings being donated to these organizations
Cultural musical and artistic events for multicultural integration such as musical evenings and typical international, regional or native dancing
Language courses in English and Spanish (and others, if requested and considered to be appropriate and viable).
Gastronomic sessions with homemade tapas, barbecues and buffets.
Offer a meeting place for meetings, debates, exhibitions in the local community and on subjects or questions of interest to foreigners from a cultural point of view, such as educative or artistic, among other spheres.
Organise games sessions without betting and legally allowed, such as skittles, dominoes, cards, Scrabble, darts, pool, petanque either internally amongst members or against other local groups.
Organise trips visiting characteristic Spanish villages and towns with the aim of enriching members’ experience of the local, regional and national culture.
Organise tabletop sales or secondhand furniture exchange or auctions or organized bidding.
